The Southeastern Conference has some great games this weekend as conference play really heats up.  The big game is in the SEC East with Georgia traveling to Tennessee for a night game. The Vol fans will be fired up. Should be a great game. To bad Florida will have to play LSU without their starting QB. They don’t have much of a chance unless they catch LSU sleeping. Has happened before.

South Carolina 31  Kentucky 14 Connor Shaw gets a break going against the bad Kentucky defense. The only problem is the Gamecock offensive line play has been terrible the last two weeks. I look for handoff after handoff to Marcus Lattimore and if the line can just block every now and then he should get some big runs against the Cats defense. If they manage to stop Lattimore like the last two weeks all bets are off. Kentucky could pull off another upset like last year. You keep waiting for this Carolina team to explode but right now they just need to win.

Mississippi State 24 UAB 10 This has been a season  the Bulldogs would like to forget so far. But there is still half a season to play. The Mississippi State offense should be able to get untracked against UAB this week. Bad offense seems to be hurting several teams in the SEC this year. And this Bulldog defense has not been as impressive as in years past. Still they should get a two touchdown win Saturday.

LSU 28  Florida 14 LSU has won every game by double digits this year and that should continue Saturday at home. Lucky for Florida they are playing an afternoon game and not a night game in Baton Rouge. That would really be tough on Freshman QB Florida Jeff Driskel. John Brantley will be out 2-4 weeks it appears. The Gators have been scoring plenty of points this year but that will end Saturday against the super tough defense of number one ranked LSU.

Alabama 21  Vanderbilt 10 Vanderbilt has a tougher defense than teams are used to seeing out of them. I think they will play Alabama tough although they will lose. If Trent Richardson gets loose like he did last week this could turn really bad for the Commodores. But Vandy has had two weeks to prepare and this is a much improved Vanderbilt team from what we are used to. Alabama pulls away in the 4th quarter.

Arkansas 31  Auburn 21 Can the Auburn defense continue to improve like they have the last two weeks. Arkansas QB Tyler Wilson passed for 510 yards last week. The Tigers secondary has been terrible until the last two weeks. Last week they looked all world against a bad South Carolina offense. I think Auburn can run the ball against the Hogs defense to keep it respectable. But if Wilson throws for anywhere near 500 yards this week it will be a blow out.

Georgia 31  Tennessee 30 This will be the game of the week in the SEC. It should be a thriller with a lot of offense. Both teams have great QBs but the experience of Murray gives Georgia an advantage. He has played well in big games before. The winner will be right in the thick of things for the SEC title. The loser will probably be out of the race this year. Georgia is 7-4 in the last 11 games of this series. Georgia will have to contain the Vols WR Da’Rick Rodgers and the Vols will have to contain Georgia RB Isaiah Crowell. I like Georgia on the road by a hair.
