Carolina-Clemson Bat-Gate Put To Rest

It seems as though the bat-gate flare up is over. I thought it was pretty stupid anyway. Seems Jack called Ray this morning and they hashed things out and once again are on good terms. I think there was just some frustrations that came to light during the series. From what I understand USC switched from using Easton bats to Rawlings before the start of the season. The Rawlings bats do have a distinct ping and the ball seems to jump off the bats better than the Easton bats. The Tigers stuck with the Easton bats and may be paying a price for that now if indeed the Rawlings bats are performing better.

Oh well. You win some you lose some. I heard Ray Tanner say the Gamecocks tried several different types of bats before deciding on changing to Rawlings. Seems like that may have been a great move. Of course the bats don’t matter if you don’t have top notch hitters.

Maybe we will be able to resume the series at the College World Series this summer. Two years in a row would be great. The only thing better would be to meet in the finals this year of the College World Series.
