What a weekend for SEC sports and all of college baseball as the No. 1 Vanderbilt Commodores (30-3) and the No.3 South Carolina Gamecocks (26-5)  in Baseball America square off this weekend for a 3 game series in Columbia. Carolina Stadium will be packed and scalpers will have a field day if they can find any tickets to sale. The Gamecocks have made a habit of knocking off number 1 teams and we will find out this weekend if they can keep it up.

They both have midweek games this week but you can bet the players are looking ahead to the match up regardless of what they say to reporters. The Gamecocks play the Citadel and the Bulldogs always seem to give the Gamecocks trouble. Coach Tanner will remind the players of this but it’s hard not to look forward to the number 1 team in the country coming in.

The SEC has 3 of the top 4 teams in the nation in the poll with Florida (26-7) coming in at No. 4 while Virginia (31-3)  is at No.2.
