South Carolina Evens The Series With Georgia
The South Carolina baseball team pulled out a 2-1 victory on Saturday to even the series at one game a piece with Georgia. The Gamecock bats are still cold and the costly errors are hurting the team. Friday night the team made 5 errors. Scott Wingo hit an infield single in the ninth inning to get the winning run across Saturday.
Matt Price got the win after Steven Neff pitched 7 good innings giving up only 3 hits. Also on Saturday Adrian Morales was 3 for 4 hitting in the number 5 spot and Adam Matthews was 2 for 4 hitting in the number 2 spot. Jackie Bradley was hitless along with Evan Marzilli. Everyone else had at least one hit .
Some of the Gamecock players are not playing that well right now and just have to play through it. Peter Mooney the new shortstop seems to be pressing a little bit. He is to good a defensive player and the USC team is to good of a defensive team to make the errors they are making. Hopefully they can get the bats going in the final game on Sunday and take the home series. Winning solves a lot of problems. Not that the Gamecocks have that many problems but we are maybe spoiled a little bit by the high level of play we have seen out of this team in the past year.
